AI Content Governance
Manage AI-generated content with governance built into your DAM
Prepare your content operations for the EU AI Act with a practical way to preserve provenance, record AI involvement, review content, control distribution and document decisions.
QBank helps you turn AI content policies into metadata, governance views, approval steps and channel rules that teams can use in their everyday work.
AI transparency is now a content operations question
The transparency obligations under Article 50 of the EU AI Act apply from 2 August 2026. Requirements vary depending on how AI is used and the type of content involved. Not every AI-assisted asset requires a visible label.
Organizations still need to know:
- Was AI involved, and where did the content come from?
- Has it been reviewed and approved?
- Does it require disclosure, and where may it be used?
- Can the decision be documented later?
These questions must be managed where content is governed and distributed, not only in the AI tool that created it.
This page provides practical guidance for content governance and is not legal advice.
Turn AI governance into a manageable content flow
QBank keeps the governance context connected to the asset throughout its lifecycle.
Preserve provenance, manage decisions and control how content is distributed through one connected flow.
Capture origin
Keep the original asset intact and preserve available Content Credentials. Record AI involvement and relevant provenance in structured metadata.
Surface gaps
Use dynamic folders to surface assets with missing, unclear or unapproved information. Governance views update as metadata changes.
Review and approve
Give reviewers the context to assess origin, completeness, disclosure and allowed use. Keep the decision connected to the asset.
Control and disclose
Use channel filters to control where approved content is available. Add labels or watermarks when disclosure is required.
Document decisions
Keep metadata, approvals and asset history available over time, with downloadable audit logs for further review and documentation.
From policy to everyday governance
Start with a clear governance approach, then turn it into a repeatable process in QBank.Define your governance approach
Agree how AI-created content should be classified, reviewed and used across your organization.
AI involvement
Record whether the asset was fully AI-generated, AI-assisted or modified, human-created, or still unknown. This helps determine which review and disclosure rules should apply.
Source of metadata
Record how the classification was established, for example through Content Credentials, other embedded metadata or manual input. Use Unknown when the source cannot be verified.
Disclosure requirement
Decide whether disclosure is required, not required or needs further review before the asset can be used. The decision may vary by content type and channel.
Approved channels
Specify where the asset may be used, such as websites, portals, social channels or internal environments. Approval for one channel does not automatically apply to another.
Put the policy into practice
Turn your decisions into a repeatable process for managing AI-involved content in QBank.
Review and approve
Give uploaders and reviewers a clear, consistent process for checking how an asset was created, whether required information is complete and whether it is ready for use.
Control distribution
Use metadata, approval rules and channel filters to control which assets can be made available through websites, portals and other publishing channels. Content approved for one channel can remain restricted in another.
Monitor and improve
Use dynamic folders, asset history and downloadable audit logs to surface missing classifications, pending reviews and exceptions. Update the setup as policies, channels or regulations change.

FAQ - Common questions about AI content governance
No. The requirements depend on your role, how AI was used, the type of content and where it is published.
Under Article 50, visible disclosure requirements for organizations using AI systems focus particularly on deepfakes and certain AI-generated or manipulated text published on matters of public interest. Separate machine-readable marking requirements apply to providers of generative AI systems. Standard assistive editing may also fall outside some marking requirements.
QBank helps you record whether disclosure is required and apply the appropriate governance process. Your organization remains responsible for determining its legal obligations. See the European Commission’s Article 50 guidance.
When an original asset contains Content Credentials or other embedded provenance information, QBank keeps that information intact with the original file. Relevant details can also be mapped into QBank metadata for search, review and distribution.
Credentials may not always follow transformed or downloaded versions, so the original should remain the source of truth. If no credentials are available, information can be entered manually and its source recorded as Manual entry or Unknown.
Not reliably for every asset. QBank can read available embedded C2PA information and map relevant details into metadata, but credentials may be missing or inconclusive. A valid Content Credential also does not automatically prove that AI was involved.
When AI involvement cannot be confirmed, the asset can be classified as Unknown and surfaced for manual review.
Yes. QBank publishing channels and portals can filter assets using metadata such as approval status, AI involvement, disclosure requirement and approved channels.
This allows an asset to be approved for internal use while remaining unavailable on a public website, social channel or partner portal. Labels and watermarks can also be added through templates when disclosure is required.
Yes. Metadata, approval information, asset history and dynamic folders provide a structured view of how AI-involved content has been managed.
Downloadable audit logs can help document uploads, approvals, metadata changes, workflow actions and distribution history for internal reviews, audits or compliance checks.
No platform can make an organization compliant on its own. Your obligations depend on your role, the AI systems you use, the content involved and how that content is published.
QBank provides the operational structure for recording provenance, managing reviews, applying channel rules and documenting decisions. Your organization still needs its own policy, responsibilities and legal assessment. The European Commission’s transparency guidance and Code of Practice provide additional guidance.
