DAM Day 2024: DAM, more than just a Marketing tool

This year’s DAM Day was all about showing that Digital Asset Management (DAM) is not just for marketing—it's a game-changer for entire businesses. After months of planning, it was great to see our message come through loud and clear in every speaker’s story, case study, and discussion.

What stood out: Connecting different talks into One Story

DAM Beyond Marketing

We’ve been pushing to change how people see DAM, and this year it truly came through. From Dr. Thomas Zoëga Ramsøy’s insights on AI predicting consumer choices to real-life examples from Lantmännen and Atlas Copco, the message was clear: DAM is more than just a marketing tool. Atlas Copco showed how DAM can streamline the sharing of documentation, like manuals and technical materials, with both internal and external audiences. It’s about more than marketing; it’s about making information easily accessible across the company, supporting teams from marketing, sales to service and RnD.

Tackling sustainability with tech
Sustainability was a major theme at DAM Day, reflecting our commitment to making tech greener. In the panel discussion on sustainable tech, we explored some eye-opening facts, like how data storage now produces more carbon emissions than the airline industry. Our panelists shared practical advice on how businesses can reduce their carbon footprint by optimizing data usage and adopting energy-efficient storage solutions. Johan Boström also highlighted the opportunities of Digital Product Passports (DPP), showing how DPPs can enhance product lifecycle management, drive sustainability, and add value by providing better traceability and compliance. For those interested in diving deeper, check out our whitepaper on DPP and explore the potential it holds for sustainable business practices.

DAM is not a Project, It’s a Journey
A key takeaway from both Lantmännen and Atlas Copco was that DAM isn’t just a one-off project; it’s an ongoing journey. Lantmännen showed how DAM has become essential in their operations, helping manage assets across departments and brands. Atlas Copco, starting their journey, uses DAM to improve customer experience by managing critical documentation for internal and external stakeholders. Their focus isn’t on marketing but on enhancing efficiency and support. Both companies remind us that DAM’s true value lies in continuous improvement, adapting, and expanding to meet new needs as the journey unfolds.

Different Topics, One Vision
The last thing that made this year’s event special was how well all the talks fit together, even though they covered different topics. Whether discussing AI, governance, or sustainability, everything tied back to the evolving role of DAM. It wasn’t just a series of separate presentations; it was one big conversation about where DAM is headed.

Moving forward

DAM Day 2024 was a great reminder of why we’re passionate about what we do. DAM is more than a tool—it’s part of a bigger movement towards smarter, more sustainable business practices. Thanks to everyone who joined us, from our speakers to our audience. We’re already looking forward to next time, building on these themes, and pushing the conversation further.

Let’s continue the conversation
The discussions at DAM Day were just the beginning. Let’s keep the momentum going—book a demo with QBank or contact our sales team to explore how DAM can drive value for your business. We’re excited to help you start or continue your DAM journey!
